I received the opportunity of pre-screening Avengers: Age of Ultron in IMAX 3D in exchange for this review. All opinions expressed here are honest and my own.
Avengers fans rejoice! The movie you have been waiting for is finally here and opens today, May 1st, in IMAX 3D.
Avengers: Age of Ultron, is the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance.
As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” stars Roberty Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Christ Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, and Chris Evans as Captain America. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Don Cheadle as James Rhodes/War Machine, Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, Stellan Skarsgard as Erik Selvig, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain ready to eliminate the human race. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision.

And that’s what the movie is, action-packed! It starts out that way….. Since I screened it in IMAX 3D, it felt like I was almost a part of the movie. Pretty awesome. The imagery is beyond fascinating and your favorite characters deliver yet again.
When there isn’t any “action” it’s your favorite super hero humor and interaction. Once you get a quick breather, you are back right into the excitement all over again.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is rated PG-13 for some language and intense action and catastrophe scenes. The movie is definitely best suited for ages 13 and up.
It was cool seeing new faces, one being Elizabeth Olsen. I just realized a few days ago that she is Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson’s (Michelle from Full House) younger sister. Pretty neat fun fact I thought I would throw in there.
I’m looking forward to seeing the movie again, except with hubby this time. I am not sure I will want to view it in IMAX 3D again as it’s pretty intense on the eyes and ears, but then again, it may be the best way to see the film. The effects are phenomenal.
Now, who is ready to get their Avengers on?
