Cynthia received a copy of Aftermath Lounge in exchange for this post.  All opinions expressed here are honest and her own.

Believe it or not, today is the 10th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. This devastating hurricane destroyed 95% of the small coastal town of Pass Christian, Mississippi.

Acclaimed author and NEA recipient, Margaret McMullan, saw the destruction firsthand. Her family’s historic Gulf Coast home was one of the many homes destroyed. This devastation inspired Margaret to share in her new book, Aftermath Lounge, how people struggle with the ghost of Hurricane Katrina in her new story collection.

“Aftermath Lounge” short stories really place readers in the Gulf Coast and let them feel the destruction, the loss and also the love of families coping. This book also makes the stories come alive and up-close.

Aftermath Lounge offers a compelling tribute to Hurricane Katrina.
