Leader in Fresh Juices promotes children’s health and gives back to children in the United States
Costa Mesa, CA (March 2017) – Known for its fresh and cold-pressed juices, smoothies, and cleanses, Nékter Juice Bar is now encouraging young children to eat healthier with a recently debuted children’s book, Sneaky Spinach. Nekter co-founder Alexis Schulze, a mother of two, wrote this new book to help families live more active and balanced lives. Proceeds from the sale of the book benefit the Festival of Children Foundation, founded by Orange County philanthropist Sandy Segerstrom Daniels to support non-profit organizations, causes and programs that benefit children in America. Sneaky Spinach Smoothie Recipe
5 Frozen Strawberries
½ cup Frozen Blueberries
½ Frozen Banana
1 ½ tsp Agave
8 oz 2% reduced fat or 1% skim milk (or alternative)
Sneaky Spinach: add 3-8 spinach leaves
Blend until all fruit is combined and enjoy!

About Sneaky Spinach Children’s Book
Sneaky Spinach is the story of a boy named Nick, who refuses to eat his vegetables. To help him understand how important fruits and vegetables are for his brain and body, a group of Super Spinach leaves sneak themselves into Nick’s smoothies. Soon Nick notices that he is doing better in school and has more energy for sports and other activities, and begins to understand how eating right can make all the difference.
Written by Alexis Schulze, co-founder and chief visionary officer of Nékter Juice Bar, Sneaky Spinach was designed to promote children’s health and education to make a meaningful impact in and beyond the communities that Nékter serves. Schulze plans a series of children’s books with her second book now in development.
Since its release, the book has motivated children and their families to make healthier lifestyle choices – all while benefiting children across the country, including bringing real fruits and vegetables to lower income communities. Schulze also hosts book readings, signings and “Sneaky Spinach Smoothie” demonstrations at local schools, libraries and other child-focused non-profit organizations, and will donate $4.00 from books sold at those events to the respective organization.
